Hi folks,
This is a companion thread to my "Augie's Future" thread (which I plan to start writing soon). Originally, I was gonna incorporate this thread into that thread. But I now realize that I'm better off making this a separate thread.
Let me start off by saying that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) is my favorite politician in the federal government right now.
Rudy Guiliani (the former NYC mayor), who does not currently hold a political office, is my favorite politician. I sincerely hope that he is our next president. Rudy loves the people of Staten Island, and we love him.

Hi folks,
I used to like NY Governor George Pataki until recently. But, recently, he is doing things to piss me off. Now, he is on my "shit list".
Effective April 2005, Gov. Pataki passed a law requiring ALL NYS Medicaid recipients (including those enrolled in managed care programs - like me) to pay co-payments for their prescriptions. I never had to pay co-payments before. The amount isn't much, but it is the principle of it. The program was only in effect for a few months, and, already, they raised the co-payment amount by 50%. I have a feeling that 10 or 20 years down the road, it is going to be an astronomical amount of money.
I think it is WRONG to force seriously ill/disabled people living on VERY little income to pay co-payments. I realize that NY state is having financial problems, and they have to balance their budget. But they shouldn't punish disabled people living on very little income.
Gov. Pataki is constantly giving tax breaks to wealthy people and huge corporations. Why don't they eliminate those tax breaks instead of hurting disabled people? Sadly, this is what the Republican party has degenerated into in this country.
This is just plain WRONG!!!
That is the main reason why Gov. Pataki went from my "good" list to my "shit" list.
One good thing that Gov. Pataki is doing is that he is bucking his own party by being a "friend" of the environment. I have to give him credit for that.

Hi folks,
My representative in Congress, Vito Fossella (R-NY), falls into the same catagory as gov. Pataki. I used to like him, but now he is on my "shit list".
Many years ago, when Vito first entered politics, I liked him a lot. He was a "pioneering spirit". He had a lot of fresh and great ideas. I don't know what happened to him. He turned into a "career politician".
Vito went to my high school. Vito was in Farrell's class of 1983. I was in Farrell's class of 1985. We were there together. I knew of him, but I didn't know him. Of course, back then, he was just a face in the crowd. When Vito first ran for public office, he appeared in ads. When I saw them, I almost shit. I said to mysef, "That guy went to Farrell".
I was proud of Vito back then. He did many good things. But, now, he turned into a "retard" and a "jackass". He is "towing the party line" and doing what that scumbag in the White House (Pres. Bush) wants him to do. He is no longer representing the people of Staten Island. He stopped representing our views and stopped advocating for us a long time ago.

Hi folks,
There is one thing that Vito did recently that REALLY pissed me off. He voted in favor of cutting Medicaid benefits for poor people and disabled people. In the House of Representatives, the measure passed by a vote of 217-215. Vito could have been the deciding vote. Instead of "doing the right thing" and advocating for the people of SI, he did what that scumbag in the White House (Pres. Bush) wanted him to do.
Vito's excuse was that, technically, he didn't "cut" Medicaid benefits. He merely reduced their growth. But that is just a play on words. You have to understand something. The number of people receiving welfare and Medicaid in America has sky-rocketed since 2000 (since Pres. Bush became president). The reason for this is that Pres. Bush's policies are a dismal failure. The government must now substantially increase Medicaid spending just to maintain "status-quo" - just to maintain "per person spending". So, by cutting Medicaid growth, Vito and Pres. Bush are actually lowering the per person spending. So, Vito's excuse was just a load of bullshit.

Hi folks,
There are some businesses in America (like oil companies, for example) that are generating tens of billions of dollars in profits every year. And we are giving them tax breaks and subsidies. Instead of taxing them, we are subsidizing them with taxpayers' money.
At the same time we are doing that, we are cutting heathcare benefits for seriously ill/disabled people living on very little income. What is wrong with this picture?
Sadly, this is what the Republican party has degenerated into in this country.
And Vito goes right along with Pres. Bush (the "king of all scumbags").
By voting the way that he did, Vito is hurting disabled people. He has a lot of penance to do.

Hi folks,
Vito just did another incredibly stupid thing in the past week.
There was an "anti-torture bill" before Congress. It was sponsered and supported by Sen. McCain. It was opposed by Pres. Bush. Vito sided with Bush instead of McCain, and he opposed the bill. The bill passed anyway. Then Pres. Bush changed his mind and supported it. But the damage had been done. Vito had done another "stupid" thing.
I don't know what the hell is wrong with Vito lately. He stopped representing the people of SI a long time ago. I think it is time for Vito to go. When he comes up for re-election, I am gonna campaign for his challenger - whoever that person is.
Vito has done a lot of damage, and he is hurting disabled people.

Hi folks,
Senator Chuck Shumer (D-NY) is doing a great job. Right now, I think he is representing the people of SI better than Vito is.
Senator Hillary Clinton (D-NY) is a "retard", and she always was. She never should have been elected NY state's senator. She is not from NY, and she didn't live here proir to the election. She is a "carpet-bagger". I did not vote for her. I voted for her Republican opponent (I think it was Mr. Lazio from Long Island).
Hillary was first lady for 8 years, and she is a senator for several more years. She has been in a "power position" for many years. She has done only one thing right in all those years - her national healthcare legislation proposal. Aside from that, what has this woman done right? Nothing!!! She is an idiot.

Hi folks,
Some people on other Rush boards accused my posts of being "ridiculous". I'll explain to you what is "ridiculous":
I have led a more exemplary life than 99.9999% of the people on this planet. I am a "model citizen" and a "model of responsibility".
I never smoked in my life. I never drank alcohol in my life. I tasted beer once, but I never drank it. I tasted wine, but I never drank it. I have never used illegal drugs in my life. I have never tried marijuana. I don't even know what it is like. I don't gamble. I don't believe in sex outside of marriage.
I went away to college, and I was a model of responsibility. When I was in high school and college, I never partied, drank alcohol, went to bars, or otherwise enjoyed myself. I had absolutely zero social life. I never "lived". I busted my ass on my school work, and I was a model student.
I was doing college-level calculus in high school. I majored in physics, engineering, and computer science in college. I easily did college-level and graduate-level physics in college. I can program a computer in any one of numerous computer programming languages (Basic, Pascal, Fortran, C, Lisp, Assembly language, machine language, etc.). I have a basic understanding of the Italian language. I have taught myself a little bit of German, Latin, and Greek languages. I probably know maore about science and math than about 99% of the people on this planet. The same is true for Greek, Roman, and Medieval history.

Hi folks, I have a cousin who always says that I can use my college degrees as wallpaper. He's right. I have college degrees on top of college degrees on top of college degrees. And I am sitting here, wasting my life, on welfare for 16 f**king mother f**king years. You want to talk about "ridiculous" !!!!! What's even more ridiculous is that the taxpayers in this country have been paying for my healthcare since 1990. They are paying for it anyway. So, what logical purpose does it serve to keep beating me down like this? I don't get it. I just don't understand. Right now, the taxpayers in this country are paying for 2 things for me: my healthcare and my SSI Disability checks. If the government would pass national healthcare legislation (NHCL), I'd be able to get off welfare and get a job. I would no longer receive SSI checks. The taxpayers would then be paying for only 1 thing: my healthcare. So, if the government passed NHCL, I would actually cost the taxpayers of this country LESS money - not more. Understand? Augie

Hi folks,
Because I am disabled, the US and NYS governments place many restrictions on me. This is a partial list of these restrictions:
1) I am not allowed to own a house. Within the past few years, this may have changed. But there are still limits on the value of that house. This is a real problem when the value of real estate sky-rockets.
2) I am not allowed to own a car. I am not physically capable of driving right now anyway, but that is beside the point. This also may have changed within the past few years. But there may be limits on the value of that car.
3) I am not allowed to have any money.
4) I am not allowed to have a savings account without ridiculous restrictions.
5) I am not allowed to have a checking account without ridiculous restrictions.
6) I am not allowed to list my name on a deed to a piece of property.
7) I am not allowed to get married.
8) I am not allowed to inherit anything when my parents pass on.
9) I am not allowed to own anything without ridiculous restrictions.
In America today, a disabled person doesn't have 10% of the rights of a convicted criminal. For example, a convicted criminal is allowed to list his name on a deed to a piece of property. A disabled person is NOT allowed to do this. This is one example of many.
Why does the government consider it a "crime" for a person to get sick? What crime did I commit by being stricken with a serious, chronic, catastrophic illness at a young age? What did I ever do to the government that they must treat me this way?
Just because I got bitten by a tick???!!!!!
It's not like I engaged in any high-risk activity when I contracted my illness. I wasn't doing anything "bad" or "wrong". I didn't ask for this.
Animals don't get treated like this. I'm being treated worse then a f**king goddam animal by the government. I feel like I'm a "second-class citizen" (or worse). I feel like I'm in India (where they have a caste system), and I'm an "untouchable".
In Rush's "Roll the Bones" tour book, Neil Peart said something that is appropriate in this situation. He was discussing the collapse of the Soviet Union. He said that he was angry because of "someone else's misguided ideology".

Hi folks,
Many people are proud of the American flag. I am definitely NOT one of those people.
Any country that does these things to its own citizens doesn't deserve to have its flag honored. I know that many people fought for (and died for) that flag in wars. But, if this is what they were fighting for, then I don't think it was worth the sacrifice.
The American flag is offensive to me. I think it is a disgrace. The American flag is as offensive to me as a Swastika symbol is to a Jewish person.
I think it's disgusting, and I think it's a f**king goddam disgrace what this country does to disabled people. The way that this government beats people down is a national disgrace. Animals don't get treatd like this.
What the f**k kind of a country is this?

Hi folks,
During the 16 years of my illness, I have written to numerous politicians on dozens of different occassions. I have spent literally hundreds upon hundreds of hours of my time writing letters to politicians. I have saved a copy of all my letters. I have a stack of letters about 2-3 inches high.
About 75% of the time, they don't even bother responding. I get no reply at all. They don't even acknowledge the fact that they received my letter. I get a response about 25% of the time.
About 50% of the time that they bother to respond, they tell me flat-out that they are opposed to my suggestions. And they proceed to do the exact opposite of whet I want them to do in order to fix the problems in this country.
The other 50% of the time, they promise me the Moon, but they don't deliver. They say, "I'm gonna do this...and I'm gonna do that...and I'm gonna refer your letter to this committee...and I'm gonna refer your letter to that committee." And they don't do jack f**king shit. They give me a f**king "stroke job".
During the past 16 years, I have spent literally hundreds upon hundreds of hours of my time writing letters to politicians, and not even so much as one law has been changed. The government STILL didn't pass national healthcare legislation (NHCL) yet. What the f**k do I have to do to get the government to pass NHCL so that seriously ill/disabled people (like myself) can get thet f**k off welfare???!!!!! What the f**k do I have to do???!!!!!

Hi folks,
In this post, I want to discuss Rep. Joe Barton (R-Texas). In circa Dec. 2005, he was an architect of a new Medicaid proposal that would have been a DISASTER for low-income disabled people. It contained SUBSTANTIAL cuts for Medicaid beneficiaries.
Among other things, he proposed higher co-payments to "encourage personal responsibility" among low-income poeple.
I have some words for Mr. Barton, and they aren't pretty. Not everyone who receives Medicaid is irresponsilble. I am a model of responsibility. In fact, I have probably led a more responsible life than Mr. Barton has. I didn't ask to be stricken with my illness.
People don't apply for welfare and Medicaid because they WANT to. They do it because it because they HAVE to - because their backs are against the wall. Apparently, Mr. Barton doesn't know what this feels like. Perhaps he came from a wealthy family that never had a family member stricken with a serious illness.
I had no choice but to apply for Medicaid. My parents would have lost their house trying to pay my medical bills. A couple should not be forced to lose their home because their child gets stricken with a serious illness. I guess Mr. Barton doesn't understand this.
This is what bullies do. They pick on the weak and prey on the sick.
I'll take an educated guess that Mr. Barton is opposed to NHCL. Doesn't it strike you as odd that the very people who are most vocal about getting people off welfare are the same people who are most vocal in their opposition to NHCL? Now, that's the ultimate hypocracy!!!
I say a prayer every night that Mr. Barton's children (and/or grandchildren) get stricken with cancer. The fact that this hasn't happened yet leads me to believe that there is no god. You see? That's why I'm an agnostic.
Mr. Barton is a f**king scumbag!!! He looks like the last shit I took.
According to the Sierra Club (which I belong to), Mr. Barton is a "global warming skeptic".

Hi folks,
It has been said that Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) wants to run for president in 2008. She hasn't done a f**king goddam thing. Why doesn't she do something? Senators McCain and Leiberman are constantly sponsering legislation. Why doesn't she sponser something positive?
And she wants to be president???!!! What is she gonna do...stick her thumb up her twat and jerk herself off in the oval office? Is she gonna ride a sybian in the oval office?
Hey Hillary, if you really want to be president, then don't just sit there like a "bump on a log". Do something!!!!! Maybe you should walk up to Rep. Barton (R-Texas) and kick him in his f**king balls so hard that they come out of his ears.
Maybe you should cut your husband's balls off. Stick one of them up his ass, and mail the other one to Monica.
I think I know what Hillary's problem is. She doesn't have enough ANGER. She needs to be more angry. Until then, I think she's a retard.
She's also a "carpet-bagger". According to Howard Stern, she's also a "carpet muncher".

Hi folks,
A few weeks ago, I heard that Sen. Chuck Shumer (D-NY) sponsered Lyme Disease legislation. This is yet another reason that I like him. I have always liked Chuck. He's a nice guy and a great politician. Right now, he is one of my top 5 favorite politicians in the federal government. He is representing the people of SI better than Vito Fossella is.
Chuck is also Jewish, and I have always loved the Jewish people.
