Hi folks,
Pres. Bush is at it again. For the second time within a span of a few years, he is proposing a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. He has instructed Congress to debate this issue. I guess he has nothing better to do.
We have MAJOR problems in this country. 46 million Americans have no health insurance. About 1 out of every 6 Americans can't afford to have a prescription filled. And the Christian Conservatives in our federal government have nothing else better to do but waste hundreds of hours of their time debating whether or not there should be a Constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage.
There is another issue here too. This ban would be a violation of the 10th Amendment (delegation of powers to the states). You can't pass an amendment that is in violation of a previous amendment. Gay marriage is a state government issue. The federal government has no authority here.
