Hi folks,
In the September 2006 issue of "Astronomy" magazine, there is an interesting article about "pulsar planets", which may form out of a supernova's blast wake. Worlds form from debris surrounding a pulsar. If the star that formed the pulsar had planets, they were likely obliterated when the star blew up. Dust particles formed in a supernova's expanding shell can fall back toward the pulsar. This creates a disk of debris that may form new planets. It is a "second generation of planets" (for that star).
