Hi folks,
What do you think of the Judas gospel recently discovered in Egypt? I think it sheds new light on Judas and early Christianity. Maybe Judas wasn't a traitor after all. Maybe Jesus wanted Judas to betray him.
The gospel they found wasn't an original. It was actually a copy. But it was a VERY old copy. It was written about 200 years after the original. Obviously, any offical Egyptian document from that era would be written in either Greek or Coptic.
For years, it has always bothered me that 4 gospels were canonized (John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew), and others were deemed to be blasphemy.
Some women wrote gospels. Thomas and Judas wrote gospels.
It is almost as if someone 1500-2000 years ago was sitting there and making decisions as to what people should and shouldn't see in the future. This is called "selective truth". They are not lying, but they are not telling you the whole truth either. They are telling you the version of the truth that they want you to hear. This is one of the biggest problems I have with Christianity.
