Hi folks, According to the Bible, there were 3 major rivers in the Holy Land in antiquity. These were the Nile River, the Tigris/Euphrates River, and another "missing" river. Where was this "missing" third river? I think it was in Israel. Some scientists believe that Israel had a river running north/south thru it. This river was in the vicinity of the Dead Sea. Scientists have found evidence (trees and other plant life) that the Dead Sea area was once lush with life because of a fresh water source (a river?). Some type of cataclysmic event changed the landscape forever. This event could have been an earthquake, or it could have been an explosion resulting from naturally-occuring minerals/chemicals buried in the groud. This explosion also could have destroyed the cities of Soddom and Gamorah, which were located in that area. The explosion also could have turned this river into a sea and then released chemicals/minerals into that sea, thus causing it to become a salty "dead" sea. What do you think? Augie
